Paper - where it starts!
Any card maker needs paper - there are so many choices. Here are few of my favorites that are available on Amazon (as of this post) and a good price point and often free shipping with Prime.
Cardbases:
I use for all my white cardbases Accent Opaque White 100 lb 8.5x11
But if you like extra think cardbases try Accent Opaque White 120 lb 8.5x11
Hot Foiling:
Hammermill Cardstock, Premium Color Copy, 100 lb, 8.5x11
A nice smooth cardstock that works great for hot foiling. 80lb works as well - just make sure it is the Premium Color Copy.
Black:
Pretty true black and smooth enough for hot foiling - Hamilco Black Colored Cardstock Thick Paper - at 80 lb it can be used as a cardbase but would need a liner for stability.
Watercolor:
For basic watercoloring or techniques with heavy water use I use Canson XL Series Watercolor Textured Paper Pad
Black watercolor paper is fun with shimmer watercolor paints - I have had good success with Stonehenge Aqua Black Pad
Holographic:
Holographic paper adds so much to a card, but as speciality paper it can be a little pricy. Metallic Holographic Card Stock Shiny Iridescent Mirror is a good buy and you will have enough for loads of cards!
Glitter:
Die cuts well and comes in a multicolor pack to use on any project - Darice 8.5 x 11 Card Stock Glitter Silk Assortment, Multicolor
